This netbook is equipped with 32-bit Vista and 2 GB of RAM. It is certainly quite impressive. The installation of the operating system adds a surprising amount of bloatware that a time to take charge. The extra nag a lot and require constant updating - the laptop is always slow for the first 10-15 minutes after the start because of automatic updates and various downloads. Once I pulled out and pushed the memory to 4 GB which was better, but still was not quicker than my old P4 with XP Pro 2.8. If my laptop on the road and do minimal editing, I was going to use Vista and Windows Movie Maker. Although this machine is not really designed for multimedia, I was surprised that the load of an AVI or WMV files virtually frozen it.
I use Ubuntu x64 on my desktop and Kino, and curiosity I loaded on this system. Everything went smoothly, the wireless worked perfectly, but I ended up installing a driver for the Ethernet network card manually. I Kino, ffmpeg, and Fl
